About the position

The Trade Desk is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented individual to join the Platform Operations team, focusing on technical sourcing and procurement for critical infrastructure. This role involves developing and refining procurement processes, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost efficiency while supporting the company's growth through strategic procurement practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation and refinement of processes and procedures for technical components of the platform.
  • Execute sourcing plans and supplier spend management strategies, including complex sourcing projects and contract negotiations.
  • Negotiate technical contracts and ensure the best value for the company.
  • Develop sourcing strategies that address the unique needs of supply chain and manufacturing at hyperscale.
  • Align procurement strategies with the company's goals and values in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to optimize technology processes and enhance platform performance.
  • Monitor platform performance and cost metrics, implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing and procurement operations in the software industry.
  • Demonstrated success in sourcing, negotiating, and delivering complex contracts.
  • Solid technical competency with knowledge of cloud computing, datacenter operations, and network architecture.
  • Experience using data analysis and industry trends to create strategies and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Experience managing projects from conception to implementation within scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Proven track record of implementing category, strategic sourcing, and process improvement initiatives.
  • History of building relationships with business leaders and supplier executives.
  • Experience driving change and managing conflict while building consensus.
  • Demonstrated experience exceeding the demands of various internal stakeholders.
