About the position

The Senior Technical Architect will lead the design and development of industry-specific offerings, solutions, and products within the AWS Professional Services team. This role focuses on creating scalable, cloud-native solutions across various domains, including cloud infrastructure, microservices, enterprise applications, data platforms, and generative AI. The architect will ensure architectural and technical quality, define design standards, and collaborate with security assurance teams to meet compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Single-threaded owner for architectural and technical quality for a set of product and solution functionalities/domains.
• Define the architecture design standards for industry cloud offerings/solutions/products.
• Assess ideas harvested from the field around their technical design and capabilities.
• Architect and design highly scalable, cloud-native solutions on the AWS platform using core services like API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB and ECS/EKS.
• Manage the build-out of the technical assets associated with Industry Solutions portfolio.
• Review code quality standards and ensure compliance with architectural standards.
• Collaborate with the ProServe Security Assurance organization to align on required regulatory and compliance standards.
• Conduct well architected review of the solution design artifacts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of technical architecture and design experience.
• 5+ years of experience with one or more popular Full Stack programming languages such as Java, Golang, SQL, Typescript or Python.
• 3+ years of experience architecting, designing, and developing cloud-native applications and microservices in a cloud environment.
• Experience leveraging core cloud services and technologies to build scalable applications.
• Familiarity with a variety of cloud-native design patterns, frameworks, and best practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience implementing cloud-based solutions leveraging AWS services.
• Experience in architecting data platforms and building GenAI applications.
• Experience managing microservices and distributed system platforms end-to-end.
• Hands on familiarity with popular Infrastructure-as-Code platforms such as AWS CDK or Terraform.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner, along with experience in collaborating across technical and business teams.
