About the position

The Senior Power BI Developer at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) plays a crucial role in the Information Technology team by collaborating with business partners and stakeholders to establish reporting requirements. This position focuses on transforming raw data into meaningful insights through the design and mapping of data models, creating and deploying Power BI scripts, and generating interactive dashboards and reports to support business decision-making and performance monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Business Partners and Stakeholders to establish reporting requirements.
• Communicate complex key insights to advise business leaders regarding their reporting needs.
• Design and map data models to transform raw data into meaningful insights.
• Create, test, and deploy Power BI scripts.
• Execute efficient deep analysis using Power BI.
• Build interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using Warehouse data.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Business Intelligence stack including Power Pivot, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
• Understanding of database management systems, OLAP, and ETL frameworks.
• Proficiency in SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• 6+ years of experience with Power BI development delivering complex reports and dashboards.
• Experience with MS Power BI suite (Power Query/M/DAX).
• Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with other BI technologies such as Qlik Sense and Tableau.
• Strong data documentation skills regarding algorithms, parameters, and models.
• Knowledge to build multi-dimensional data models.
• Experience working with Azure Synapse and exposure to other visualization tools.
• Experience working in Azure cloud and building data visualizations.
