About the position

The Senior Power Systems Engineer will join the Innovation and Technology team at Schneider Electric, focusing on advanced systems and electrical distribution. This role involves collaboration across various business units to drive innovation and tackle challenges in electrical distribution, including protection, control, safety, and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex problems deeply to evaluate multifaceted factors.
  • Lead and manage studies and investigations within project streams that have a global impact.
  • Exhibit autonomy and leadership in anticipatory topics where critical thinking is crucial for success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • PhD or demonstrated seniority in the field is highly valued.
  • Proficient in Matlab, Simulink, Simpowersystems, PSCAD, EMTP-ATP, Power Factory.
  • Expertise in transient recovery voltage and knowledge in direct current for integrating Photovoltaics (PV) and batteries in Distributed Energy Resources (DERs).
  • Master at least one or two simulation tools and be willing to implement studies in the Mathworks environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in smart grids and Renewable Energy (REN) integration.
  • Familiarity with Advanced Distribution Management Systems.
  • Experience in optimizing power systems and conducting transient analysis.
