About the position

Eaton's Electrical Engineering & Services Division is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to provide technical consultation and engineering services in power systems analysis and design. This remote role is available to candidates residing in Oregon or Washington and involves working with a team of experienced engineers to assist customers in various aspects of power systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in power systems studies, design, installation, startup, maintenance, repair, and training.
  • Self-manage assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates.
  • Perform Short-Circuit, LV/MV Protective Device Coordination, and Arc Flash studies.
  • Conduct field data collection to gather information on customer electrical distribution equipment for power system studies.
  • Interpret specifications and customer inquiries to design technical proposals and pricing for customers.
  • Provide technical solutions to customers involving equipment design or upgrades, testing of equipment, and solutions for increased safety, reliability, or efficiency.
  • Mentor or lead other engineers on small to medium-sized projects.
  • Provide customer training on arc flash and electrical safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the electric power industry.
  • Ability to work in the US without company sponsorship.
  • Current residence in Oregon or Washington.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in the electric power industry
  • Experience with Short-Circuit, LV Coordination, and Arc Flash studies
  • Familiarity with SKM, ETAP, CYME, and/or EasyPower software
  • PE License
  • IEEE Membership
  • Active participation in Local IEEE
