About the position

The Senior Analyst at American Water is responsible for managing price development and modeling for potential business opportunities, as well as conducting continuous reviews and analyses of business and operational data. This role involves oversight of various programs within the MSG, including financial modeling, J-40 analysis, and market cost trends. The position aims to maximize business performance through data analysis and effective pricing strategies.

Responsibilities

• Manage pricing development, J-40 analysis, and cost and financial modeling for all potential MSG business opportunities.
• Lead the preparation of price adjustment proposals for existing MSG contracts by scheduled deadlines.
• Prepare responses to Government negotiation messages for price adjustment proposals.
• Assist MSG management in maximizing business and operational performance by analyzing financial and operational data.
• Analyze performance problems at existing contracts and develop solutions.
• Ensure the integrity of pricing for new bids and price adjustment proposals for existing contracts.
• Develop and refine MSG O&M metrics to manage operating expenses and improve competitiveness of bids.
• Support MSG budget development and management by participating in the operational budgeting process.
• Analyze system inventory, market costs trends, and contract insurance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance and/or Business-related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 7-10 years of financial management analysis and modeling experience.
• Strong financial analysis skills, including budget management and financial modeling.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, and persuasion.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and report writing.
• Good negotiation skills.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
