About the position

The Senior Principal Cloud Developer will lead the engineering efforts for the Oracle Intelligent Data Lake, focusing on enhancing developer experience, code generation AI assistance, and ML model operations. This role is pivotal in building a cutting-edge data service from the ground up, aimed at providing a seamless interface for customers to manage and analyze data across the Oracle ecosystem. The position requires a strong technical leader who can navigate a fast-paced environment and drive innovation in data management and processing technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable, distributed, and resilient software components and services for the new product.
  • Lead and direct architecture discussions, design sessions, and code reviews for functional correctness and performance.
  • Develop a long-term technical roadmap for the solution area.
  • Code for high-risk projects with dependencies within and outside the current team.
  • Analyze and develop complex architectures and associated sub-systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders such as Development leads, Product Management, and Operations to shape software development and delivery.

Requirements

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field with 10 years of professional experience.
  • Excellent design and programming skills with expertise in Java, Python, and SQL.
  • Experience designing and building distributed systems.
  • Experience building microservices on container orchestrators like Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of system design for performance, efficiency, and availability.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills in a Cloud environment.
  • Cloud development experience on major platforms (Oracle, AWS, Azure, GCP).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Generative AI, LLM models, RAG.
  • Experience with search technologies.
  • Experience with code generation assisting technologies.
  • Big Data skills with open source frameworks like Apache Spark.
  • Experience working with notebook technologies.
