About the position

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Water Infrastructure Design Services group, focusing on electrical engineering for water and wastewater facilities. The role involves managing electrical design work, particularly for large-scale projects in the Northeast region, with opportunities for national and global involvement. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in the water industry, capable of overseeing projects from planning through construction, and will serve as the main point of contact for clients' electrical needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support projects and clients in the planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater facilities.
  • Develop project proposals for new and existing clients in the water/wastewater industry.
  • Manage budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment; oversee project/task scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Coordinate electrical design and various projects focusing on motor controls, power distribution, lighting, and communications.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and other engineers to design electrical systems for new or modified facilities.
  • Establish design criteria, perform design calculations, and develop one-line diagrams and control schematics.
  • Provide engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals and responding to contractor RFIs.
  • Conduct field inspections and oversee projects in construction, ensuring compliance with design and safety standards.
  • Perform system analysis using ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or other power systems analysis software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10 years of consulting experience in electrical engineering for water/wastewater and industrial facility design.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Basic knowledge and experience using AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SKM Power Tools and related electrical analysis tools.
  • Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Bluebeam and BIM360.
  • Medium voltage design experience.
