About the position

The Senior Principal Electronics Engineer - Hardware Lead at Northrop Grumman is responsible for leading a team of hardware and infrastructure engineers in the Avionics Integration Organization. This role involves overseeing technology development, execution, integration, and deployment, while ensuring effective collaboration with software development and other stakeholders. The position requires a strong technical background in systems engineering and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing a team of hardware and infrastructure engineers through technology development, execution, integration, and deployment.
  • Leading technical discussions in datacenter and IT system infrastructure development while collaborating with software development and other stakeholders.
  • Managing the Infrastructure Jira project, executing scrums, plans, and priority deconfliction.
  • Ensuring technical breadth across the technology stack in the datacenter/IT system.
  • Managing staffing and content delivery plans across multiple business areas.
  • Planning release content across multiple IFCs based on program milestones with technical content.
  • Working with the Product Owner to groom the backlog, prioritize content, and execute work based on milestones and technical needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related engineering experience.
  • Experience with systems engineering practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio and other Office products for engineering documentation.
  • Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR).

  • Experience as lead, functional and/or Cost Account Manager
  • Knowledge of Cisco UCS Compute, NetApp ONTAP/StorageGrid, Cisco Nexus Networks, VMware virtualization (vSp, NSX-T, Horizon, vRealize, and vCloud Foundation)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
