About the position

Cardlytics is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer, Data Infra to join our team, reporting to the Director Cloud & Data Infra. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional partners to build innovative data solutions that drive business impact. The engineer will be responsible for shaping Cardlytics' data strategy, ensuring accessible and reliable data for informed decision-making, and contributing to a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with data science and analytics functions to identify workflow inefficiencies and enhance self-service capabilities.
  • Conduct a comprehensive audit of existing Data Infra to identify gaps and evaluate opportunities for improvement.
  • Design, execute, and evaluate Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to address inefficiencies in data workflows.
  • Research and assess technology vendors for suitable infrastructure upgrades to support self-service data needs.
  • Oversee the performance of Data Infra, ensuring speed, scalability, reliability, security, and efficiency.
  • Streamline processes related to data access, model deployment, and dataset creation through automation and documentation.
  • Lead the transition to new infrastructure components, providing training and support to analytics teams and software developers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern data infrastructure components, including cloud services, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and big data processing frameworks.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing robust data infrastructure systems.
  • Strong background in MLOps practices, automating the lifecycle of machine learning models.
  • Understanding of self-service data environments and best practices for diverse user groups.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, ETL processes, and cloud services platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms like Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Proficiency in automating data operations.
