About the position

The position involves implementing and enforcing mission and flight assurance plans for spacecraft flight hardware programs at Northrop Grumman. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with design, manufacturing, integration, and testing activities according to company and contractual requirements. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various teams to address technical issues, meet program requirements, and ensure mission success.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and administer an effective Safety and Mission Assurance program in compliance with applicable customer contracts and guidelines.
  • Ensure contractual program requirements are flowed down internally and to suppliers, ensuring compliance with customer contracts and industry standards.
  • Perform verification and validation requirements to ensure they have been met.
  • Review practices, procedures, and processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk to product quality.
  • Interpret customer technical and mission assurance requirements, ensuring integration into program plans and specifications.
  • Provide oversight in discrepancy review, failure investigations, and corrective action determinations.
  • Lead root cause and problem-solving analyses.
  • Represent Mission Assurance at various review boards including Configuration Control Board and Engineering Change Board.
  • Support tracking and reporting metrics and mission-specific risk issues, and develop internal and external Mission Assurance briefings.
  • Ensure Risk Management activities are executed and maintained according to standards and procedures.
  • Communicate impacts and execution of program, division quality, and organizational requirements to all levels of the organization.
  • Provide S&MA inputs and baseline estimations for future program proposal efforts.
  • Lead the S&MA team in support of mission success for large contracts and product lines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related STEM field
  • 9 years of relevant experience
  • Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI
  • U.S. Citizenship

Nice-to-haves

  • Active TS/SCI
  • Ability to read engineering documentation and inspect drawings and parts lists
  • Extensive knowledge in Cause Analysis tools such as Ishikawa, FMEA, DOE, KTA
  • Previous experience managing elements of AS/ISO/CMMI certified organizations
  • Experience interfacing with DCMA and Aerospace representatives
  • Control Account Management experience with Earned Value Management practices
  • Familiarity with industry workmanship standards such as NASA, MIL, NAS, IPC.
