About the position

The Resource Circularity Senior Business Planning Lead at Honda is responsible for developing and executing product and business planning strategies focused on sustainability and resource circulation within the automotive domain. This role involves navigating the complexities of regulations and policies related to automotive recycling and sustainability, creating actionable plans to meet Honda's global resource circulation goals, and identifying new business opportunities. The position requires a strong understanding of the automotive supply chain, environmental strategies, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve corporate sustainability objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Product Journey Planning by identifying and proposing directions for vehicle product journeys focused on resource circulation.
  • Report to executive management to obtain approvals for business development themes and meet fiscal year requirements.
  • Clarify business development theme strategies across multiple teams for actionable implementation plans.
  • Set measurable plans, targets, and KPIs to validate business development themes.
  • Research and stay updated on regulations and policies related to resource circulation, including current and future standards.
  • Participate in industry organizations to collaborate and represent Honda's interests.
  • Evaluate global and regional automotive environmental requirements and develop plans to progress towards identified goals.
  • Direct, mentor, and motivate related business development project themes for successful implementation.
  • Communicate project evaluations and status updates to stakeholders, summarizing key learnings and recommending next steps.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of business strategy planning experience in sustainability or recycling programs.
  • Experience in a consulting or strategic planning role related to circular economy, particularly focused on EU activities.
  • 10+ years of experience in automotive supply chain or purchasing.
  • 10+ years of experience in regulatory or policy research.
  • Knowledge of Honda or automotive industry across all product lines.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements related to resource circularity.
  • Knowledge of electric vehicles (EV), environmental sustainability, and recycling industries.
  • MBA from an accredited university.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong hands-on technical expertise with a track record of successful projects.
  • Strong industry knowledge of hardware, software, and wireless communication technologies.
  • Ability to think big picture and out of the box.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Excellent teamwork skills for both North American and global offices.
