About the position

As a Senior Principal IT Business Analyst at Medtronic, you will play a crucial role in the Product DNA Execution team, focusing on the implementation of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) capabilities. This position involves advising business units on PLM processes, leading business analysis activities, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance operational efficiencies through technology solutions. You will be responsible for translating business needs into functional specifications, overseeing testing processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, all while fostering an inclusive and innovative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Advise Business Operating Unit / Functions & Business Workstream Leads on PLM process design.
  • Lead all BA activities related to functional requirements, solution design, and IT compliance for PLM capabilities.
  • Engage with business leaders to identify how product data-driven changes can improve efficiencies.
  • Evaluate current business processes and translate needs into PLM solutions using PTC Windchill.
  • Partner with IT teams to design technology solutions that align with Enterprise Architecture strategy.
  • Provide technical expertise for system functional specifications and deploy new systems cost-effectively.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and provide briefings to senior leaders.
  • Facilitate discussions to negotiate and solve business and technical challenges.
  • Gather requirements through interviews and document current processes.
  • Collaborate with IT Business Relationship Manager and stakeholders to develop business requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into Functional Specifications and drive the solution delivery process.
  • Oversee testing and defect management for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Support training content creation and build institutional solution knowledge.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and 12+ years of experience OR Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience OR advanced degree and 8+ years of experience.
  • Strong industry/business knowledge and PLM solution implementation experience.
  • Proven experience in leading the shaping of business requirements and designing solutions.
  • Ability to create technical specifications and troubleshoot technical issues within PLM applications.
  • Solid experience with activities throughout the product lifecycle, including requirements management and risk management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Multiple complete Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) implementations.
  • Experience configuring PLM applications, preferably Windchill.
  • Experience with master data management and healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge of pre/post market surveillance and real-world evidence.
  • Strong knowledge of EU MDR requirements.
