About the position

The Senior Principal Process Integration Engineer position at Leonardo DRS involves applying advanced engineering principles to perform highly complex functions in the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of manufacturing operations. This role is critical in planning, conducting, and technically directing projects or major phases of projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently and effectively. The engineer will be responsible for reviewing project progress, evaluating outcomes, and communicating results to all stakeholders involved. This position requires a deep analysis of highly complex technical problems, with the expectation to recommend corrective actions that may significantly impact the design and success of products and services. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Senior Principal Process Integration Engineer will support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization. The role involves developing manufacturing process plans, test requirements, and manufacturing flow and capacity plans. A key aspect of this position is reviewing detailed designs for manufacturability and producibility, ensuring that all engineering outputs meet the required standards and specifications. The responsibilities are highly complex in scope, requiring a thorough understanding of engineering principles and the ability to analyze situations or data that involve intangibles.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced engineering principles to perform highly complex functions in the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of manufacturing operations.
  • Plan, conduct, and technically direct projects or major phases of projects.
  • Review project progress, evaluate, and communicate results to all stakeholders.
  • Analyze highly complex technical problems and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
  • Involved in the development of manufacturing process plans, test requirements, and manufacturing flow and capacity plans.
  • Review detailed designs for manufacturability and producibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant disciplines with 10+ years of progressively complex engineering experience or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD clearance as needed, which requires US Citizenship.
  • Experience in microelectronics fabrication, MEMS fabrication, microelectronics yield enhancement, and failure analysis.
  • Some microelectronics test experience is a plus.
  • Infrared or imaging detectors experience is desired.
  • Specialties may include production, industrial, welding, tooling, testing, processing, and robotics.
