About the position

The Senior Principal Wafer Process Integration Engineer at Raytheon is responsible for managing process development and improvement projects in semiconductor manufacturing, particularly focusing on infrared semiconductor wafer processing. This role involves collaborating with various engineering functions to enhance production technologies and ensure high-quality output in a cleanroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing process development and improvement projects, including novel processing techniques, yield increase, throughput, and safety improvements.
  • Responsible for reviewing material in WIP, certifying operators, dispositioning out of flow material, and hands-on processing of novel detector designs.
  • Providing Process Ownership of vacuum coating tools, etch tools, or lithography tools.
  • Developing requirements and qualification plans for new equipment procurements.
  • Maintaining statistical process controls for process optimization; troubleshooting and resolving issues supporting the manufacturing process and improving work center process yields.
  • Researching new suppliers and technologies for improving production, quality, end cost, and throughput.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a STEM degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Process or Manufacturing Engineer in an Optics, Electro-Optics or Microelectronics environment, or an advanced degree with 7 years of related experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government issued clearance is required.
  • Expert experience with wet etch, metal-lift off, lithography, plasma cleaning, and associated semiconductor process equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Expert experience with principles of infrared semiconductor fabrication technologies.
  • Experience with infrared detector technology and semiconductor physics.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control and design of experiments.
  • Equipment and controls system experience.
