About the position

The Systems Engineer position supports the Strategic Automated Command Control System (SACCS) Acquisition Program, focusing on planning, managing, and setting up future acquisition systems and components for upgrades to the MMIII ICBM and future Sentinel Program requirements. The role requires a proactive individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and provide expert technical advice throughout the acquisition cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical advice and support to government leaders and engineers on SACCS acquisition systems engineering aspects throughout the acquisition cycle.
  • Handle technical reviews and create, review, and assess documents, architecture, and engineering proposals.
  • Assist in day-to-day engineering operations of the SACCS Acquisition Lead Engineer, including technical status tracking and meeting support.
  • Coordinate and integrate actions with project managers, engineers, logisticians, testers, and external agencies.

Requirements

  • BS with 12 years experience or MS with 10 years of experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Physics or Mathematics.
  • 6 years of progressive experience in systems integration and analysis of hardware and software systems/processes.
  • 2 years experience leading system design, integration, and analytical efforts.
  • Must have a current Secret security clearance or higher and be able to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Knowledge of communication systems to include design, test, and operations.
  • Familiar with electrical engineering design, schematic capture and analysis tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Digital Engineering or Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience with integrating requirements into existing acquisitions lifecycle phases, milestones, and deliverables using systems engineering principles and methodologies.
  • DoD acquisitions program experience.
  • Knowledge or experience working with systems engineering tools.
  • Proficiency using office software such as Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Familiar with Agile project management processes.
  • Previous experience with military weapon systems.
