About the position

The Senior Principal QA Engineer for WiFi at RUCKUS Networks is responsible for leading the design, development, and execution of advanced testing solutions for enterprise WiFi and switching products. This role requires a deep understanding of WiFi/networking technology, software testing, and automation, with a focus on ensuring quality and reliability in large-scale network deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement comprehensive testing strategies for enterprise WiFi products.
  • Develop and maintain testing architectures, frameworks, and tools for WiFi protocols and network security.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify testing requirements and create detailed test plans.
  • Lead the development of automated testing solutions using Python scripting and tools like Robot Framework and Selenium.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for WiFi networks and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Mentor and guide QA teams, providing technical leadership in manual and automated testing.
  • Interface with customers and partners to understand vertical solution requirements and design testing environments.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and improve testing methodologies.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in software testing, focusing on WiFi or network technologies.
  • In-depth understanding of WiFi protocols, network architectures, and security standards.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting and automation, with experience using Robot Framework and Selenium.
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale WiFi network deployments and troubleshooting complex network issues.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience working with customers and partners to ensure testing solutions meet real-world requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in software testing or WiFi technologies (e.g., CWNA, CWNP).
  • Experience with cloud-based WiFi management and AI-related innovations in network management.
  • Knowledge of RRM strategies for optimizing wireless performance and network simulation tools.
