The Senior Principal Research Analyst in the Office of Market Regulation is a pivotal role responsible for the planning and execution of analytics projects throughout their lifecycle. This includes defining the approach, scoping, and driving analytics with appropriate quantitative methods, while working closely with the business to ensure that project objectives and goals are met. The position promotes the use of advanced analytics to solve business problems and engages with both internal and external stakeholders, including senior management across the organization. In this role, the analyst will lead business engagement activities, soliciting use cases, gathering user feedback, and providing training as necessary. They will contribute to the development and enhancement of the client's cross-market surveillance program and work across delivery teams to deliver analytics capabilities that address critical business challenges. The analyst will also drive the availability of relevant data, tools, and infrastructure to facilitate experimental and development purposes, ensuring that analytics-based research is provided in response to ad hoc requests that support business objectives. Additionally, the Senior Principal Research Analyst will define the approach for data collection necessary for building analytics-based systems, transformations, and extending the company's data with third-party sources when needed. They will devise and implement methods for automating all parts of the predictive pipeline to achieve regulatory efficiencies and actively participate in the completion of the enterprise-wide strategic plan for expanding analytics capabilities that support regulatory programs aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness. Mentorship is also a key component of this role, as the analyst will guide other Research Analysts on the team regarding methodologies and best practices. To maintain essential skills, attendance at training programs, conferences, and continued education in advanced analytics, software development, artificial intelligence, and machine learning is expected.
