About The Position

The Senior Principal RF Design Engineer at Raytheon will leverage their expertise in RF/Microwave system theory and design to contribute to the development of advanced Radar Receiver, Exciter, and Transmitter products. This role involves architecture development, hardware design, and hands-on testing, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure successful product integration and lifecycle support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
• Experience with Microwave/RF system, subsystem, and component analysis, design, and testing.
• Proficiency with electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, ADS, CST) and analytical tools (e.g., MATLAB).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience translating system performance specifications into hardware requirements.
• Background in designing for manufacturability and cost constraints.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify alternative solutions.
• Experience in technical writing and oral presentations.
• Technical background in cascade analysis, filter design, circuit card assembly, and high-speed data converter testing.

Responsibilities

• Architecture development and requirements analysis for RF systems.
• Design and development of transmitters, receivers, or exciters.
• Optimization of RF circuits and components such as filters and limiters.
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including power, digital, and mechanical engineers.
• Schematic capture and RF routing for circuit designs.
• Provide technical support during the transition to production and ongoing production activities.
• Manage cost and schedule, and contribute to proposal writing.
