About the position

The Principal Software Architect will lead the Enterprise Architecture efforts, providing vision and optimal architecture designs for Brightly's global SaaS products and services. This role involves mentoring other architects, driving technical decisions, and ensuring alignment between technology and business strategies. The architect will also engage in M&A activities, support product strategy, and establish best practices in software architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive the Solution Architecture for Brightly's global SaaS products, platform, and services.
• Support M&A activities and provide analysis during technical due diligence phases.
• Collaborate with senior product and technology leadership to evaluate new product ideas.
• Participate in the Architecture Guild to advance technology strategy.
• Design and architect systems for performance, resilience, scalability, and security.
• Partner with business and Product Management leadership on product strategy.
• Provide leadership and technical direction for architectural activities.
• Guide clients in integrating with their legacy technology investments.
• Establish and participate in enterprise architecture governance processes.
• Write patents, research articles, and industry presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• 13+ years of experience in software architecture and building secure, scalable systems.
• Hands-on expertise with cloud-hosted applications architecture.
• Deep understanding of reactive and distributed architectural design.
• Knowledge of microservices, REST, gRPC, SaaS, PaaS, and DevOps.
• Experience in developing high transactional commercial software products.
• Excellent knowledge of Agile methodologies and software development best practices.
• Strong communication skills to interact with diverse partners.
