About the position

The Senior Principal Software Engineer role at Autodesk is pivotal in driving business growth and enhancing operational efficiency through innovative data solutions. This position involves leading the delivery of advanced Go-To-Market (GTM) planning solutions and various data initiatives, collaborating with a globally distributed team to transform Autodesk's business processes. The role requires deep technical expertise in enterprise systems, sales, finance, and customer master data domains, with a focus on defining and optimizing GTM planning, account hierarchy, and customer segmentation models.

Responsibilities

• Work with multiple scrum teams (each has 7-9 engineers).
• Lead collaboration with scrum teams in the US, India, and Singapore.
• Oversee the entire complex project development cycle and accomplish project goals.
• Participate in product discovery with Product Managers, Users, and Architects.
• Lead solution design, readout, and oversee end-to-end solution implementation.
• Experience with sales planning, forecasting, and customer hierarchy, segmentation domains.
• Identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency and increasing business revenue.
• Lead, develop, test, and release data science models to create insights from enterprise system data.
• Translate needs and product requirements into well-documented engineering solutions.
• Communicate updates to partners and stakeholders regarding requirements clarification and project status.
• Design, implement, test, and deliver data engineering products/components/services strategically.
• Drive systematic solutions for both short and long term, building a roadmap for technical solutions.
• Guide implementation of long-term technical strategy for data engineering tools and practices.
• Mentor and coach other engineers, applying best practices into team/product.

Requirements

• BS or higher in computer science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of hands-on software and data engineering development experience in enterprise applications and systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Broader knowledge in software architecture concepts.
• Experience with data architecture and data platform designs.
• Deep knowledge and experience in data modeling, entity relationship, and query analysis optimization.
• Deep expertise in Python, Snowflake, SQL, and DBT.
• Hands-on project experience with AWS.
• Experience leading solution design for sales planning, account hierarchy, and customer segmentation solutions.
• Experience designing and building data science and ML models for generating business insights.
• Strong competence in driving consensus and alignment across teams and GEOs.
• Ability to design and implement complex enterprise system solutions independently.
• Excellent team player with experience working with different disciplines and teams.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Rich experience in mentoring and coaching other developers.
• Deep knowledge and experience of working in Agile processes.
