About the position

The Systems Engineering Directorate plays a crucial role in Mission Systems Integration activities, focusing on defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE). We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join our SPY-6 Family of Radars and GhostEye Family of Radars team. This position will involve executing integration and analysis activities, identifying issues, generating solutions, and verifying that these solutions are implemented as designed. Effective communication skills are essential for conveying solutions and results to both teammates and leadership. The role is based in Tewksbury, MA, or Marlborough, MA, and may require occasional travel. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing concepts of operations for radar systems, radar processing algorithm development, and radar software requirements development. Additionally, the role involves conducting statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data, developing analysis tools to support problem identification and resolution, and collaborating with Systems and Software Engineers to implement solutions. Presenting findings and solutions to leadership and customers is also a key aspect of this position. Other focus areas include signal processing and waveform design, electronic protection methods, phased array and digital beamforming technology, radar search, track and discrimination design, target and threat modeling, and integration and testing of large radar systems. This position requires daily on-site support and is not open to hybrid or remote possibilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 7 years of prior relevant experience
  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice-to-haves

  • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
  • Experience with design, development, and analysis of radar system and software architectures
  • Experience with signal processing techniques in complex propagation environments
  • Design experience in radar system areas such as antenna, receiver/exciter, waveforms, digital beamforming, multi-sensor track management and data fusion, adaptive signal processing, clutter mitigation techniques, electronic attack and electronic protect, sensor resource management and mission planning
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Requirements development experience, including use of DOORS
  • Experience with MATLAB/Python/C++
  • Experience with technical writing and oral presentations
  • Masters/PhD in a STEM field
  • Systems Engineering experience on DoD systems
