About the position

The Senior Principal Technical Product Manager for Optum AI is responsible for the design, development, and management of generative AI products throughout their lifecycle. This role focuses on leveraging market insights to identify opportunities, ensuring product performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative AI solutions that enhance health care outcomes. The position requires a strong technical aptitude and subject matter expertise in AI/ML, with a commitment to transforming the industry through responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the roadmap for generative AI capabilities in United AI Studio to enable developers to build applications.
• Provide regular updates about the adoption of Generative AI across the enterprise and significant industry trends to senior leadership.
• Create and manage best practices for the use of Gen AI to ensure secure and efficient resource use across the enterprise.
• Evangelize the benefits of generative AI through proofs-of-concept and demos to drive adoption across various functional roles.
• Manage matrix partners and cross-functional stakeholder strategy.
• Develop and implement Gen AI enterprise adoption, training, and communications plan.
• Collaborate with the Responsible Use of AI (RUAI) team to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with customers to enable implementation of end-to-end Gen AI solution pipelines.
• Collaborate with major CSPs and Gen AI services vendors to enable best of breed Gen AI services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related STEM field.
• 8+ years of experience in technical product development or management, including 5+ years focused on AI/ML lifecycle management.
• 5+ years of experience leading initiatives/projects and influencing cross-functionally within a large organization.
• 3+ years of experience in establishing and enforcing AI/ML best practices and standards.
• Experience developing communication strategies and creating Executive-level content.
