This position has sole responsible for all global privacy and product counsel matters at Candescent.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited, top tier law school and admission to a State Bar
  • 5+ years as privacy counsel or product counsel in the SAAS space with privacy responsibilities, with at least 3 years in-house
  • Deep knowledge of state and global privacy laws
  • CIPP/E or similar privacy accreditation(s)
  • Self-starter who works with urgency and proactively manages response timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Confidence and efficacy in client and customer-facing situations, presenting a positive and professional image
  • Team player with attention to detail
  • Continuing willingness to learn and upskill

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of regulatory law applicable to financial institutions and vendors to financial institutions including Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering laws, and Know Your Customer obligations

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement global privacy policies, procedures, and DPAs
  • Create customer privacy & transparency center for public website
  • Assist with negotiating customer and vendor DPAs by providing templates and training to commercial team
  • Work closely with product development teams to implement privacy by design policies by embedding into product design lifecycle
  • Ensure global cookie compliance
  • Formulate terms of service for products and commercial contract product exhibits
  • Legal responsibility for financial regulatory policies and risk governance, including working with risk & compliance team on FFIEC reviews
  • Negotiate technical partner agreements for API and SDK integrations
  • Prepare and maintain policies for partner marketplace portal
  • Exercise sound judgment in advising business clients on interpretation and risk
  • Develop contract templates to drive efficiencies
  • Assist with preparing detailed playbooks to frame risk profile for DPAs in commercial and vendor contracts
