About the position

The Senior Process Automation Engineer role at Arpeoh involves supervising, coordinating, and providing direction for advanced problem-solving in automation systems. This position is critical in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of automation processes within the organization. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing and enhancing the performance of existing automation systems, mentoring junior engineers, and actively participating in safety and reliability processes. The role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting specialized sensors, managing equipment obsolescence, and implementing innovative automation solutions to improve operational efficiency. Additionally, the engineer will ensure the quality of project work by reviewing project proposals and collaborating with expert systems to optimize plant operations. This position also entails conducting regular reviews of alarm management systems and participating in safety processes and studies to maintain high safety standards in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide direction on moderate to complex issues, including mentoring junior Engineers.
  • Review and enhance the performance of automation systems, identifying opportunities for process optimization.
  • Conduct regular reviews of alarm management systems and participate in safety processes and studies.
  • Troubleshoot specialized sensors and manage equipment obsolescence.
  • Implement automation solutions and delegate work accordingly.
  • Review project proposals and verify the quality of project work.
  • Collaborate with Expert or APC systems to optimize plant operations.
  • Improve performance of PCS communication and the plant historian.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline and five years of related experience, including three years with Advanced Sensors and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), OR
  • Master's degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and three years of related experience, including three years with Advanced Sensors and PLCs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous supervision experience.
  • Electrical Journeyman Training.
  • PLC or DCS manufacturer's training or certification.
  • Experience with Plant Information or database storage and retrieval systems.
  • Understanding of comminution, flotation, exothermic reactions, and other processes used in mining and mineral beneficiation and processing.
