About the position

The Senior Process Control Engineer at Chevron is a pivotal role focused on the design, implementation, and maintenance of multivariable control applications, specifically DMC3 and PBM systems. This position requires a deep understanding of the applications that support these control systems, including inferred properties and Raman models. The engineer will be responsible for tuning control loops and providing support for Honeywell TDC-3000 DCS, Honeywell Experion DCS, and Yokogawa systems. Additionally, the role involves training console operators and ensuring effective communication with various workgroups, including Operations, Maintenance, Technical, and Planning teams. In this role, the engineer will implement and maintain multivariable process control applications that align with both short-term and long-term refinery operating plans. Daily process control support for console operators is a key responsibility, along with participation in a 24/7 emergency callout rotation. The engineer will also identify and resolve control performance issues by collaborating with colleagues from different specializations, such as instrumentation, analyzers, and mechanical equipment. The Senior Process Control Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing the safety, reliability, operability, and profitability of the operating area through process control improvements. Training refinery personnel on the effective use of process control applications and acting as a mentor for other engineers are also essential aspects of this position. The engineer will be expected to maintain and grow their process control skills through ongoing training opportunities, both onsite and offsite.
