About the position

The Senior Process Control Engineering Specialist at Arconic is responsible for leading initiatives to develop and deploy advanced control and monitoring technologies aimed at enhancing manufacturing process capability and performance. This role involves creating innovative control strategies, designing prototype systems, and developing software for process analysis and control. The specialist will work autonomously, providing expert advice and contributing to the functional strategy in process control engineering, while also mentoring newer technical contributors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to develop and deploy advanced control and monitoring technology.
  • Develop innovative solutions for advanced control strategies to improve process yield, productivity, and quality.
  • Provide designs for prototype systems, conduct evaluation trials, and commission systems.
  • Develop software for implementing process model and control technology for offline and online systems.
  • Monitor emerging and existing technology and recommend R&D options to Arconic's plants.
  • Act as an expert advisor within the organization in process control engineering.
  • Anticipate business challenges and recommend process improvements.
  • Solve unique and complex problems impacting the business.
  • Contribute to the development of functional strategy in process control.
  • Lead teams or projects with broad visibility to achieve milestones and objectives.
  • Provide corporate technical training to develop newer technical contributors.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in engineering or physics with 5 years of industrial experience in implementing Level II control systems.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead projects of significant scope and technical complexity.
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, and MATLAB.
  • Experience with software development methodology for real-time process control systems.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • M.S. degree or higher in engineering with 7 years of industrial experience.
  • Ability to apply modeling and mathematical principles to simulation and optimization solutions.
