About the position

Form Energy is at the forefront of energy technology and manufacturing, pioneering a new class of iron-air batteries designed to enable the electric grid to operate on renewable, reliable, and affordable energy year-round. As a Senior Process Engineer within our Assembly Manufacturing Engineering team, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, optimizing, and scaling up innovative battery manufacturing processes for our Iron-Air multi-day battery. This role is not just about engineering; it’s about making a significant impact on the future of energy storage and sustainability. In this position, you will lead the development and optimization of novel battery assembly manufacturing technologies, ensuring that our processes are capable, efficient, and of the highest quality. You will work closely with our Manufacturing Equipment team to design, build, install, and operate processes on first-of-a-kind manufacturing equipment. Your collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product design, R&D, quality, and supply chain, will be crucial in translating product requirements into effective battery designs and manufacturing processes that meet our ambitious company targets. Your hands-on experience in developing new technologies from concept to scaled implementation will be vital. You will employ a data-driven approach to problem-solving, driving yield, quality, and performance in our manufacturing processes. Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and optimization of novel battery assembly manufacturing technologies.
  • Enable highly capable processes by driving yield, quality, and performance through a data-driven approach.
  • Partner closely with the Manufacturing Equipment team to design, build, install, and run processes on first-of-kind manufacturing equipment.
  • Collaborate with the product design team, R&D, quality, and supply chain to translate product requirements into battery design and manufacturing processes that achieve company targets.
  • Develop and maintain PFMEA, process specifications, measurement systems GR&R, control plans, statistical process control, and quality inspection methods.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience developing new technologies from concept to scaled implementation.
  • Proactive, interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong background in manufacturing processes, particularly in battery technology or similar fields.
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making and process optimization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the energy storage sector or renewable energy technologies.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control and quality inspection methods.
  • Knowledge of PFMEA and control plans.
