About the position

The Senior Process Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing and ensuring the efficient operation of chemical processes within an industrial plant. This position involves developing, configuring, and optimizing processes from inception to start-up and certification, while also assessing and interpreting data to design systems and equipment. The role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of the company in a permanent position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, monitor, and optimize process strategies in our industrial plant.
  • Utilize chemical process simulators and Aspen Plus to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Use Autodesk software for designing and drafting process systems.
  • Conduct process simulations and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee operational processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure processes align with overall project objectives.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures.
  • Lead Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies.
  • Direct reduction and other cost-saving measures.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in using chemical process simulators, Aspen Plus, and Autodesk software.
  • Solid experience in developing and interpreting Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Strong understanding of industrial plant operations.
  • Experience in conducting Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies.
  • Demonstrated experience in direct reduction and other cost-saving measures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to mentor and inspire a team.
  • Committed to ongoing professional development.

Nice-to-haves

  • A professional engineering (PE) license is preferred.
