About the position

Parsons is seeking an Experienced Senior Process Engineer specializing in Slurry Chemical Systems to join our team in New York City. This role is pivotal in supporting large infrastructure projects that significantly impact our communities. The ideal candidate will be versatile and enthusiastic, thriving in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment. Exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills are essential for success in this position. As a Senior Process Engineer, you will be responsible for completing a wide variety of complex engineering assignments, applying process engineering techniques and analysis to specific project assignments within the semiconductor industry. This may involve utilizing computer-aided engineering (CAE) and computer-aided design (CAD) applications. Experience in designing and operating semiconductor facilities, pharmaceutical facilities, and chemical plants is highly desirable. The position requires a willingness to travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations as needed. This is a full-time position based in Syracuse, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Provide chemical engineering support and oversight for the design, construction, and commissioning of slurry distribution systems.
  • Review design drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Evaluate equipment configuration and distribution routing of systems in NavisWorks 3D model for functionality and maintenance requirements.
  • Validate engineering calculations related to slurry systems.
  • Review and approve equipment and component submittals in coordination with operations and maintenance staff.
  • Assess construction RFI responses for accuracy and completeness.
  • Review and approve shop drawings and construction models.
  • Conduct field engineering quality assurance during construction phases.
  • Provide commissioning support for slurry systems.
  • Enter system information into capacity planning software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of related work experience in process engineering.
  • Mid-level or higher engineering experience, particularly in large project greenfield design and construction.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in chemical slurry pumping and distribution systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering-related PC applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Engineer registration may be required.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical facilities and chemical plants.
