About the position

The Assembly/Equipment Process Engineer will be part of the Process Transformation Engineering Group at Whirlpool Corporation, focusing on the acquisition and implementation of capital equipment for manufacturing operations. This role involves collaboration with various manufacturing locations and teams to ensure the successful delivery of new products to the market, emphasizing efficiency and flexibility in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Define capital purchases for NAR Cooking and Small Appliances manufacturing locations.
  • Simulate, specify, and implement new equipment for manufacturing operations.
  • Improve the speed of product delivery to the marketplace.
  • Ensure new manufacturing processes are flexible to accommodate future product plans.
  • Collaborate with the Advanced Manufacturing Group to comply with the Global Bill of Processes.
  • Lead projects and special assignments as required.
  • Enhance conversion, cost, quality, or assembly performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience

  • Experience with WCM methodology (EEM Pillar)
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Excellent project management skills

  • Ability to translate component GD&T into equipment designs
  • Experience in new product introductions and capital equipment acquisition
  • Hands-on experience in an automated production environment
  • History of gathering input from stakeholders and gaining buy-in
  • Experience in a matrix-managed environment
  • Experience using Visual Components or FlexSim simulation Software
