About the position

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing complex engineering tasks and important process engineering work with efficiency and accuracy. Your expertise will be crucial in preparing complex process engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). You will also complete a variety of process engineering assignments, including alternatives analysis, position white papers, conceptual drawings, specifications, and other documents suitable for design purposes. As a Senior Process Engineer, you will extract engineering information from CAD drawings and prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials. Your role will involve reviewing supplier drawing submittals and performing technical bid analyses. You will prepare and issue drawings, specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents, ensuring that all outputs meet the required standards. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters and junior Process Engineers working on the same project. You may be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances. In this advisory capacity, you will also support senior management personnel on process engineering-related matters. The work will be performed remotely or at the project site, allowing for flexibility in your work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex engineering tasks and important process engineering work efficiently and accurately.
  • Prepare complex process engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&IDs (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams).
  • Complete a variety of process engineering assignments such as alternatives analysis, position white papers, conceptual drawings, specifications, and other documents suitable for design purposes.
  • Extract engineering information from CAD drawings.
  • Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
  • Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
  • 8+ years of related work experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Engineers in Training-EIT Certification is preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of process engineering theories and practices
  • Advanced knowledge of company procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
  • Effective analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to perform complex engineering tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to travel for business or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site location
