About the position

Under limited direction, utilizing engineering and lean methodologies, the position involves performing engineering work at operational sites. This work includes analyzing operational bottlenecks, troubleshooting, and designing solutions with speed and urgency. The role is crucial as it requires collaboration across various areas of the organization. The responsibilities include developing, redesigning, and essentially owning change management of process changes, which may involve modifications to formulations, methods, and controls to meet quality standards within established guidelines. The individual will identify complex technical issues or operational bottlenecks, determine root causes, and recommend and implement improvements using proven statistical methods. This may pertain to overall processes or product-related issues. The position also entails reviewing step-change or change requirements for compatibility with processing methods to assess costs and schedules. Additionally, the role involves planning and directing the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing and facilities equipment. The individual will integrate equipment and material capabilities to meet process module target specifications and technology target specifications. Collaboration with a team of engineers, site leadership, and/or continuous improvement teams is essential to provide support in process adherence or to modify processes to accommodate identified opportunities. Long-term continuous improvement efforts will be supported to implement solutions for various projects, utilizing analysis methods such as fishbone diagrams, 5 why analysis, DMAIC, RCA, work measurement (time study), and statistical analysis. The role requires the development of sequences of operations, estimating time requirements for each, and preparing operation sheets with a focus on deployment. This includes support for the labor management system (LMS) and warehouse management system (WMS) for local sites. The individual will partner with the engineering team and local leadership to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for learning and development, building documentation on standards to facilitate team member training. The position acts as a resource for Process Engineers, providing guidance, support, and assistance as directed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a related role.
  • Experience with equipment troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Experience delivering compliance-based and consultative solutions to improve processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • 7 years of experience in a related role.
  • Lean Training or Six Sigma Training.
  • Experience with Tableau or other statistical analysis packages.
