This position is integral to both new and existing Timken facilities worldwide, ensuring that the manufacturing processes are efficient, cost-effective, and safe. The engineer will be involved in a variety of project work that directly impacts the company's operations and contributes to its business initiatives. Key responsibilities include providing design guidance and technical specifications for system integration, which constitutes 20% of the role. The engineer will also develop and implement investment proposals that align with Timken's strategic goals, accounting for 10% of their duties. Utilizing project management tools for key departmental projects is another critical aspect, making up 5% of the responsibilities. A significant portion of the role, 35%, involves specifying and selecting technology for new processes or equipment upgrades, guiding system development and installation, and delivering comprehensive process documentation to the plants. Additionally, the Senior Process Engineer will collaborate with manufacturing plants to identify opportunities for improvement in manufacturing processes, aiming to increase throughput, enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve safety, which represents 10% of the job. Finally, the engineer will develop deployment plans for newly developed processes in conjunction with Advanced Technology teams and Manufacturing, which constitutes 20% of their responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Provide design guidance and technical specifications for system integration.
  • Develop and implement investment proposals to support Timken's business initiatives.

  • Specify and select technology for new processes or equipment upgrades, guide system development/installation, and deliver total process documentation to the plants.
  • Work with manufacturing plants to identify opportunities and provide recommendations related to manufacturing processes to increase throughput, improve quality, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
  • Develop deployment plans for newly developed processes in conjunction with Advanced Technology teams and Manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
  • 24 months of experience in the job offered or in an R&D Manufacturing Engineer or similar position.
  • Experience must include SPC tools and Manufacturing Process Engineering.
  • Domestic and international travel 25% of the time.
