About the position

The Process Engineer at MASSIV Automated Systems is responsible for developing and preparing manufacturing assembly concepts, including build sequences, layout designs, cycle time charts, and capacity calculations. This role focuses on enhancing manufacturing processes for automotive assembly systems, ensuring safety and quality standards are met while collaborating with various departments and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Development and preparation of GM Closure systems and manufacturing assembly concepts.
  • Design layout, cycle time charts, and capacity calculations for assembly processes.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing cells and processes for assembly systems, including logistics and quality.
  • Create clamping plans and support the sales department with process documentation and supplier quotes.
  • Assist project managers in the Massiv Automated Systems division.
  • Adhere to the Magna Employee's Charter and corporate policies in all interactions.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and manage suppliers through process validation.
  • Report unusual circumstances and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow ISO Standard Operating Procedures to ensure quality products.

Requirements

  • Technical education in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in Body in White automotive assembly and welding processes.
  • Experience with SPOT/GMAW/LASER welding, SPR applications, and adhesive/sealer applications.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and its interpretation.
  • Proficiency in ACAD and MS Office.
  • Experience with General Motors and UG & Process Designer is an asset.
  • Excellent understanding of 3D CAD design.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written, with strong presentation skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel with valid travel documents.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to work well with General Motors customers.
