About the position

The Senior Process/Specialty Engineer at Fluor is responsible for providing technical leadership and coordination for complex Process Technology projects. This role involves working closely with clients and internal teams to ensure project execution aligns with contract requirements while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. The position emphasizes safety, sustainability, and the development of team members' skills in a diverse and inclusive setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical responsibility for organizing, executing, and coordinating complex Process Technology project assignments.
  • Lead a team of engineers to develop drawings and specifications for various project phases including feasibility and engineering.
  • Develop Process Technology Quality Plans for small to moderate size projects.
  • Oversee Process Activity Plans for moderate to intermediate size projects.
  • Execute Fluor's scope of work according to contract requirements.
  • Interface with client representatives to align contract requirements and expectations.
  • Collaborate with Fluor discipline engineers to develop interdisciplinary drawings and specifications.
  • Support project team members to enhance understanding of client technology and business.
  • Train team members in technology-specific skills and client business objectives.
  • Develop schedule logic and effort-hours budgets for projects.
  • Perform a broad range of process engineering assignments including creating and updating process diagrams and specifications.
  • Participate in P&ID and Safety reviews.
  • Plan and conduct work in evaluation, selection, and application of standard process engineering techniques.
  • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to complex problems.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks effectively.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable policies and global standards.
  • Adhere to Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of process design and engineering principles.
  • Experience in leading engineering teams and managing project deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with clients and team members.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the Life Science or Semiconductor industries.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
  • Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE).
