About the position

The Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for managing and enhancing the supply and demand management processes within the organization. This role involves balancing supply with demand, optimizing procurement practices, and ensuring effective communication of risks and opportunities to facilitate business decision-making. The position requires collaboration with various teams to align goals and objectives, as well as leading the overall demand planning process.

Responsibilities

  • Balance Supply with Demand and communicate risks and opportunities to facilitate business decision making.
  • Determine target GMP Materials levels with manufacturing team.
  • Maintain production planning-related master data and utilize the production planning system of record.
  • Act as Supply chain ERP system expert.
  • Drive and manage SAP SME for the department.
  • Implement replenishment strategies and time fence management policies.
  • Drive supply network optimization for cost, capacity, and customer service.
  • Work with a team of Demand, Supply, Network, Schedulers and Planners. Align goals/objectives with process/systems implementation.
  • Supply Chain focal point for GMP Product Introduction, New Business/Policies & Manufacturing footprint change initiatives.
  • Lead overall Demand Planning process in the creating of a consensus-based demand and revenue plan.
  • Utilize statistical methods in the planning process where appropriate. Optimize and recalibrate forecast models periodically by analyzing predictions vs. Actual patterns and make appropriate model revisions at the SKU level.
  • Drive alignment between the Demand forecast, supply plan, financial outlooks and supply strategies that will enable success for the organization.
  • Work with Controlling and Accounts Payable team for coordination of vendor payments.
  • Work with Master Specs to align GMP Specs for materials utilized.
  • Work with team members on requisition process and place POs with vendors.
  • Support and maintain SDS for chemicals ordered and in the facility for GMP Manufacturing.
  • Support the purchasing controls policies and procedures.
  • Review and update Procurement practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, and laws.
  • Establish, review, and revise Procurement procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs.
  • Develop material cost forecasts or standard cost lists.
  • Negotiate prices and contract terms with suppliers, vendors, and freight forwarders.
  • Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
  • Support manufacturing operations to ensure uninterrupted high quality manufacturing operations.
  • Support equipment/ facility investigations and related process deviations.
  • Identify issues and facilitate problem solving, contingency planning, and escalate as needed.
  • Remain current on biopharma regulations, industry standards, current practices, and new technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4 years' experience supporting GMP or medical device procurement.
  • Experience working with GMP materials in a clinical manufacturing setting required.
  • Valid driver's license required, and position may require use of personal vehicle with reimbursement for mileage.
  • Complex computer skills including, but not limited to the ability to administrate a system, interpret error codes, replace power supplies, and interpret computer codes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 10 years' experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or commercial.
