About the position

The Senior Procurement Project Manager is a pivotal role within Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, specifically designed to bridge the gap between technical engineering knowledge and procurement processes in the supply chain. This position is not a traditional purchasing role; instead, it emphasizes the importance of understanding the intricacies of procurement as it relates to the production process. The Project Manager will act as an internal change board representative, advocating for the procurement team while ensuring that the production process aligns with Gulfstream's strategic goals. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple subcontracts for strategic source components, which may include high-value agreements with suppliers that impact Gulfstream's future business. The Project Manager will lead negotiation teams, develop plans for contract awards, and resolve ongoing commercial issues. This position requires a blend of project management skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to negotiate effectively within a cross-functional environment. The Senior Procurement Project Manager will interface directly with various departments, including program office, design engineering, operations engineering, and quality assurance. The role demands a proactive approach to supplier performance management, ensuring that suppliers meet Gulfstream's requirements for quality, reliability, and product support.
