About the position

The Senior Producer/Editor at Boston University is a key role within the External Affairs division, responsible for producing high-quality, engaging video content that emphasizes storytelling. This position involves working on complex productions and collaborating with executive-level leadership, ensuring that the content aligns with the university's vision and standards.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality, engaging video content rooted in solid storytelling.
• Work on high-level, complex productions.
• Interact with executive-level leadership to understand their vision and requirements.
• Develop solutions for technical issues in production and post-production.
• Optimize and improve best practices, workflow, and processes in video production.
• Stay current on developments in video production technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 3-5 years of related work experience.
• Progressively responsible experience in a professional video editing/producing environment.
• Advanced editing experience with non-linear systems such as Avid.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to put subjects at ease.
• Ability to provide advanced creative direction.
• Experience in documentary-style video production is strongly preferred.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
