About the position

We are looking for talent with experience in insurance analytics to join our growing Product organization. As a Senior Product Analyst, you will be part of the Product Analytics team, reporting to a Senior Product Analytics Manager. Your primary responsibilities will include reviewing and overseeing our homeowners' results for select states and delivering state analytics that promote profitability and growth. This role offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with a variety of business and process leaders across the American Family Enterprise, including Government Affairs, Compliance, IT Leadership, Partner Management, Operations, Claims, and more. In this flex office/home role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from one of the following office locations: Madison, WI or Boston, MA. The position comes with relocation support for eligible candidates, and internal candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of location, as they will be considered based on the needs of the role. Your responsibilities will include performing analytical analysis within your states to ensure products are winning in every market. You will analyze results on a monthly basis by completing monthly reporting, researching drivers of performance, and making recommendations for further analysis or strategic changes. You will utilize tools such as GCP BigQuery, Looker Studio, and Power BI to extract data and create reports for both ad-hoc and routine reporting. Additionally, you will guide decisions and priorities with an understanding of our competitive position and external data and industry resources. You will also be tasked with bringing improvements and enhancements to existing processes, focusing on automation to improve process efficiency, and managing requests for policy reviews and compliance requests. Furthermore, you will identify business opportunities, develop a product plan to maximize those opportunities, and implement the plan.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with state manager to perform analytical analysis within states to ensure products are winning in every market.
  • Analyze results on a monthly basis by completing monthly reporting and researching drivers of performance.
  • Support multiple deep dive projects and make recommendations for further analysis or strategic changes.
  • Use tools such as GCP BigQuery, Looker Studio, and Power BI to extract data and create reports for ad-hoc and routine reporting.
  • Guide decisions and priorities with an understanding of competitive position and external data.
  • Bring improvements and enhancements to existing processes, focusing on automation to improve process efficiency.
  • Lead non-region-specific projects, tool building, and other tasks.
  • Manage requests for policy reviews and compliance requests.
  • Identify business opportunities, develop a product plan to maximize those opportunities, and implement the plan.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of professional experience, including work in Property & Casualty insurance.
  • A bachelor's degree and quantitative analytical knowledge is required; a graduate degree and/or CPCU designation is preferred.
  • Ability to identify and define business problems, and develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to conduct analyses.
  • Analyze state performance, identify additional areas of research, and recommend improvements.
  • Knowledge of SQL, SAS, R, Python, Tableau, GCP, and/or other programming/data query/reporting knowledge.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
