About the position

The Senior Product Analyst for Small Business at Chubb will play a pivotal role in the management and development of the Business Owners Policy (BOP) and Umbrella product lines. Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President of BOP and Umbrella, this position is integral to driving both top and bottom-line goals for these product lines. The analyst will engage in ongoing product management, which includes conducting in-depth analyses to formulate data-driven business recommendations for product modifications, rule adjustments, rate changes, and underwriting enhancements for both new and existing products. In collaboration with the AVP of BOP and Umbrella, the Senior Product Analyst will spearhead product line initiatives across various departments, including Underwriting, Regulatory, Marketing, Claims, Actuarial, IT, Government Affairs, and Legal. This cross-departmental collaboration is essential for ensuring that product offerings are competitive and compliant with regulatory standards. The responsibilities of this role extend to regular product maintenance, which encompasses managing regulatory changes, enhancing underwriting rules, updating loss costs, and incorporating ISO circular updates. The analyst will also drive product development efforts, focusing on coverage enhancements, segment expansions, and improvements to Chubb's online strategic quoting platform for Small Business. Additionally, the Senior Product Analyst will work closely with Underwriting, Actuary, and Portfolio Management teams to provide insights on state rate selections based on rate indications and product performance. The role requires active collaboration with stakeholders from claims, marketing, training, and customer experience to identify new product initiatives and opportunities. Furthermore, the analyst will be tasked with identifying, developing, and implementing process improvement strategies aimed at achieving financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform deep dive analyses to formulate data-driven business recommendations for product, rule, rate, or underwriting changes for new and existing products.
  • Collaborate on new initiatives and strategies with key stakeholders to influence change.
  • Manage regular product maintenance including regulatory changes, enhancements to underwriting rules, loss cost updates, and ISO circular updates.
  • Drive product development efforts including coverage enhancements, segment expansions, and improvements to Chubb's online strategic quoting platform for Small Business.
  • Work closely with Underwriting, Actuary, and Portfolio Management to provide input on state rate selections based on rate indications and product performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including claims, marketing, training, and customer experience on new product initiatives and opportunities.
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvement strategies to achieve financial objectives.

Requirements

  • Experience in product management or analysis within the insurance industry, particularly in small business insurance products.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed business recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance related to insurance products.
  • Proficiency in using analytical tools and software for data analysis.
