About the position

The Senior Product Data Analyst for Emerging Sports at GameChanger plays a crucial role in enhancing the company's data-driven decision-making processes. This position focuses on analyzing product performance in various sports, particularly those outside of baseball and softball, and involves collaborating with engineering and product teams to optimize tracking and reporting systems. The analyst will also be responsible for advising business partners based on data insights, establishing a common data vocabulary, and educating stakeholders on data usage.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Emerging Sports engineers and product managers to design and set up experiments in Statsig for new feature releases.
  • Provide guidance on back-end and Snowplow front-end tracking for web and mobile app experiences to enable accurate data reporting.
  • Monitor Emerging Sports business trends and recommend focus areas for the group.
  • Analyze effectiveness of Emerging Sports product initiatives and experiments to advise next steps on important features.
  • Build interactive and intuitive reporting in Looker and Hex to deliver concise and meaningful insights.
  • Establish a common vocabulary by defining metrics and dimensions and teaching others how to understand and use that shared vocabulary.
  • Own the prioritization process for Emerging Sports analytics projects.

Requirements

  • Product Analytics experience
  • Expert in SQL and working with relational databases (window functions, CTEs)
  • Experience with BI tools and data visualization
  • Experience with programming languages like Python or R
  • Experience working with Snowplow or other tracking solutions
  • Experience with engineering development processes (Git, code review, version control)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical/non-technical colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed while also working within a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience in a cross-functional and stakeholder-focused data role.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in Snowflake, Hex, Snowplow, dbt, Statsig, Looker, Kubit
  • Experience with experimental design and experimentation platforms.
