About the position
The Senior Product Designer for Digital Programs at Ochsner Health is responsible for leading the creation of visual concepts and design systems that enhance patient interaction across various digital platforms, including mobile apps and websites. This role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to uphold high standards in aesthetics, user experience, and accessibility, ultimately contributing to the innovation in digital medicine products.
Responsibilities
- Designs elegant and accessible visual solutions across product experiences using strong conceptual thinking.
- Builds and owns the foundation of the user interface and visual design language and leads the creation of a scalable design system with robust documentation.
- Leads the design and delivery of complex clinical features in patient/consumer-friendly experiences.
- Collaborates with the product team to pioneer digital healthcare products known for their ease-of-use and accessibility.
- Guides teams and products through innovation to maturity.
- Completes sketching, prototyping and iterating quickly to share and validate with the larger team and stakeholders.
- Establishes and maintains the quality of the visual craft by conducting design reviews, coaching, and guiding the broader team.
- Collaborates with a broad set of stakeholders across engineering, clinical, health coaching, content and operations team to foster partnerships while ensuring connection with teams outside of Connected Health.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in user experience design, user interface design, interaction design, visual design, or related design area.
- 3 years of experience in user experience, user interface, HCI, visual design, product design or related area.
- Proficiency in visual design, wireframing, and prototyping tools (e.g. Sketch, Adobe CC, Invision, etc.).
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and partner closely with product and engineering teammates to make decisions quickly, learn from them, and iterate.
- Ability to build and work with design systems and ability to extend them to scale products in new and bold directions.
- Ability to apply formulative research methods to understand user behaviors and motivations.
- Exceptional understanding of fundamental interaction design, usability, and accessibility principles.

- 7 years of work experience in area(s) noted above can be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
