About the position

As a Senior Product Designer on the Domains team at Squarespace, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the user experience for domain and email management. This position is designed for a creative individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering elegant solutions to complex design challenges. You will be responsible for owning the domain and email experience, ensuring that it is intuitive and empowers customers to effectively manage their web addresses and emails within the Squarespace ecosystem. In this hybrid role based in our New York City headquarters, you will work closely with a small team of designers, product managers, and engineers. Your responsibilities will include creating rational and articulable design solutions, thinking holistically about the user journey, and designing concepts that are not only usable but also educational and relevant. You will drive the design process from discovery and concept through to detailed design and delivery, ensuring that your work aligns with the overall product strategy and vision. You will also be data-driven, with a keen interest in measuring and improving the user experience. This includes defining key metrics to track success and business impact, maintaining clear team alignment around goals and priorities, and partnering with user research and testing to ensure usability and product consistency. Collaboration with the Design Systems team will be essential to ensure that your designs integrate seamlessly into the broader Squarespace ecosystem. Your role will require effective storytelling and the ability to tailor presentations for different audiences, as well as a passion for impactful design and staying current with industry trends. You will provide thought leadership and ensure that design aligns with the brand voice, contributing to the overall success of the Domains team.

Responsibilities

  • Create rational, articulable, elegant solutions to complex problems.
  • Think holistically about the user journey and product ecosystem.
  • Design concepts for the platform that are usable, educational, and relevant.
  • Build high quality solutions that affect the strategy.
  • Drive work from discovery and concept through detailed design and delivery.
  • Be data-driven and have an interest in measuring and improving the experience.
  • Contribute to OKRs, product strategy, vision, and roadmap by working closely with PM and Engineering partners.
  • Help define key metrics in order to track success and business impact.
  • Maintain clear team alignment around goals and priorities.
  • Partner with user research and testing, ensuring usability and product consistency.
  • Collaborate with our Design Systems team to ensure your work integrates into our ecosystem.
  • Engage with users and analyze data to inform design decisions.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in product design.
  • Ability to simplify complex data into actionable design tasks.
  • Proficient in Figma and prototyping both large concepts and micro-interactions.
  • Strong visual design expertise in consistency, color, typography, and animation.
  • Experience with UX methodologies for complex systems (service blueprints, user journeys, usability testing).
  • Systems approach to designing large concepts and micro-interactions.
  • Effective at storytelling and tailoring presentations for different audiences.
  • Passionate about impactful design and staying current with trends.
