About the position

The position at Koalafi involves leading the design of native iOS and Android app experiences, focusing on enhancing user engagement and improving the financing experience for customers. As the second design hire, the role requires collaboration with product managers and developers to research, ideate, design, test, and deliver solutions that align with user needs and business goals. The designer will also contribute to the design system and ensure consistency across platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of native iOS and Android apps, shaping user experiences for shopping, applying for financing, and managing accounts.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and leadership to research, ideate, design, test, and deliver solutions.
  • Track the success of shipped designs through product data and user feedback, iterating to improve experiences.
  • Contribute to and refine the design system within Figma to ensure consistency across platforms.
  • Utilize tools like Slack, Confluence, and Jira to coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a UX/UI/product design role, working closely with product managers and developers.
  • Expertise in researching, designing, and shipping native iOS and Android apps, with a strong grasp of platform guidelines.
  • Advanced skills in Figma, including components, auto-layout, and prototyping.
  • Versatile across user research, UX, UI, and service design, with a passion for tackling new challenges.
  • Strong independent problem-solving abilities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Deep empathy for users, capable of conducting interviews and analyzing feedback.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the fintech industry or working with financial products.
  • Experience in both B2B and B2C (or in B2B2C).
  • Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive design principles.
