posted 5 months ago
At Handshake, we are dedicated to creating opportunities for all college students and recent graduates to access meaningful jobs and internships. Our design team plays a crucial role in this mission, working collaboratively as designers and user experience researchers to help students, employers, and career centers. We adopt a student-first approach in our design and product development, striving to deeply understand our users and their true goals. We believe that great products and experiences are a result of both functionality and aesthetics, and we are committed to excelling in both areas. Our culture emphasizes openness, honesty, and constructive feedback, fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse backgrounds and perspectives. This diversity not only enriches our team but also enhances the quality of our products and experiences. In this role, you will be responsible for the design direction and execution of the Handshake design system, known as Rosetta, across all verticals and platforms. While our product is well-established, our design system is in its early stages, and you will play a key role in defining and creating components that will shape the next generation of our product. You will lead the implementation of the design system and visual language, establishing guidelines, type stacks, and component libraries. Collaboration with the engineering team will be essential to align and publish the system across the product and company. You will also work closely with the brand team to ensure that the design system reflects Handshake's values and identity, creating processes for designers and engineers to contribute effectively. Your efforts will empower teams across the company to adopt and contribute to the design system, and you will participate in design reviews to ensure its successful implementation and address new component needs as they arise.
