About the position

The Product Designer will work on the Graphing Team at Datadog, focusing on data monitoring features. This role involves translating business needs and user insights into narrative experiences and workflows, collaborating with product managers and engineers to enhance user experience. The designer will see their work through from conception to execution, ensuring that the designs effectively meet user needs and contribute to the overall product improvement.

Responsibilities

• Work with product managers and engineers to understand customer needs and usage of Datadog.
• Translate insights from user research into design ideas, sketches, and prototypes.
• Oversee the design process from start to finish, shipping products and features that enhance Datadog.
• Become an expert in the designated product area.
• Communicate design work and rationale effectively across the company.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure designs are feasible and well-implemented.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in digital product design.
• Proven track record of shipping visual and interaction design work in web applications.
• Excellent visual and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with advanced prototyping tools such as Figma, Protopie, Principle, Framer, and Sketch.
• Understanding of long-term systems thinking and advocacy for it.
• Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
