About the position

Hyatt is seeking a dynamic Senior Product Designer to enhance our Sales & Events Digital Product Portfolio. As a Senior Product Designer, you will spearhead the design of user interfaces, architectural frameworks, and visual interaction patterns to create seamless, end-to-end digital guest experiences. You will collaborate closely with Engineering and Product teams, playing a key role in advancing our design practices and setting new standards for exceptional guest interactions. In this fast-paced environment, you will work alongside engineering, product management, and data analytics teams to enhance and transform the global guest experience across Hyatt's digital platforms. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with Engineering and Product Management teams to enhance and evolve the customer experience, delivering engaging and intuitive solutions for guests. You will communicate effectively and transparently with leadership and business stakeholders, providing strategic recommendations based on competitive analysis and research, and making data-driven recommendations for both new and existing offerings. You will also investigate and adopt new design patterns and methodologies to continually improve the website and app experience, applying UX best practices, industry trends, conversion metrics, and testing insights to optimize digital experiences. Leading the creation and refinement of data-driven prototypes, wireframes, and designs for Hyatt's digital products will be a key part of your role, focusing on innovation and user impact. Additionally, you will manage multiple projects concurrently while supporting the team's design and technical backlog, and mentor and support Product Designers to evolve the design process and produce high-quality designs grounded in data and usability principles.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the design of user interfaces, architectural frameworks, and visual interaction patterns.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product Management teams to enhance and evolve the customer experience.
  • Communicate effectively and transparently with leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic recommendations, including planning, competitive analysis, and strategy development.
  • Conduct research and make data-driven recommendations for both new and existing offerings based on business cases, roadmaps, and budgets.
  • Investigate and adopt new design patterns and methodologies to continually improve the website and app experience.
  • Apply UX best practices, industry trends, conversion metrics, and testing insights to optimize digital experiences.
  • Lead the creation and refinement of data-driven prototypes, wireframes, and designs for Hyatt's digital products.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while supporting the team's design and technical backlog.
  • Develop and test both low and high-fidelity prototypes to understand guest motivations and feedback.
  • Mentor and support Product Designers, evolving the design process to produce high-quality designs.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in roles such as experience designer, interaction designer, or product designer, with a focus on mobile, web, and on-device applications.
  • Extensive expertise in web, mobile web, and native app design.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with engineering and product teams to implement design thinking and agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive a hypothesis-driven, iterative design and discovery process using both qualitative and quantitative research insights.
  • Strong capability in working within cross-functional teams to ensure technical feasibility, business viability, and customer desirability.
  • Skilled in presenting designs and strategies effectively to business stakeholders and leadership.
  • Adept at managing and coordinating design work with external vendors.
  • Experience in launching industry-leading consumer experiences.
  • Experience in the hotel or airline digital sector is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated expertise in leading design research, ideation, and the end-to-end development and delivery of web and mobile platforms.
  • Experience in managing design projects across various channels and coordinating with multi-functional teams.
  • Deep knowledge of human-centered design principles, lean methodologies, design operations, and experience working with design systems.
  • Proven track record of providing coaching and mentorship to other designers.
