About the position

As a Senior Product Designer on the Digital Experience team at Windstream, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing innovative web products and features that are utilized by millions of customers. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify user and business needs, allowing you to ideate and deliver high-quality solutions that address real user pain points while achieving key business objectives. You will work closely with developers to ensure that your design concepts are effectively translated into functional cross-platform solutions, contributing to the evolution of our growing design system. This is an exciting time to join Windstream as we embark on a significant site redesign aimed at transforming and elevating our web presence. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help cultivate a strong design culture across the organization, ensuring that every product and feature is human-centered, thoughtful, aesthetically pleasing, and contributes to the growth of our business. Your work will directly impact the user experience and the overall success of our digital offerings. The position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States. You will be expected to collaborate closely with the Product Development, Marketing, and Sales teams to understand requirements and create innovative, user-friendly solutions. Your responsibilities will include conducting product discovery, user research, and brainstorming initial product ideas, as well as rapidly delivering high-fidelity prototypes to communicate interaction and design ideas. You will also conduct usability tests and iteratively refine your designs based on feedback from working teams and senior leadership. Additionally, you will partner with Product and Engineering teams to ensure that the final customer experience aligns with the original design vision, and work with Brand and Creative teams to ensure that site assets and copy adhere to brand guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Product Development, Marketing and Sales teams to understand requirements and create innovative and user-friendly solutions.
  • Conduct Product Discovery, user research, and brainstorm initial product ideas.
  • Rapidly deliver high fidelity prototypes to communicate interaction and design ideas, conduct usability tests, and iteratively design.
  • Present design work to working teams and senior leadership for review and feedback.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to ensure final customer experience execution aligns with the original Product Design vision.
  • Partner with Brand and Creative teams to ensure site assets and copy align with brand guidelines and direction.
  • Support the execution of design aspects of the Kinetic site redesign, satisfying all aspects of contemporary web design best practices across platforms.
  • Help evolve and define a robust design system consisting of reusable components to minimize time-to-market and maximize design and development efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in design, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience/certifications.
  • 4+ years of experience in product design.
  • Experience with consumer e-commerce or subscription based digital products.
  • Fluency with Figma/Figjam and other design, prototyping and collaboration tools.
  • Experience in user research, usability testing, web analytics, and agile development principles.
  • Demonstrable exposure to, and participation in, formal Product Discovery techniques involving a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Excellent understanding of the product design process and a keen eye for visual design.
  • Fluency in best practices for usability, information architecture, and design.
  • Experience collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams and working directly with developers to implement designs.
  • Experience building and maintaining design systems a plus.
  • A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions.
