About the position

As a Senior Product Designer at Yahoo Finance, you will collaborate with product designers and cross-functional partners to define and execute the vision for new features that enhance the product. This role involves leading design efforts for critical projects, implementing innovative practices, and building relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment with broader product goals. You will be responsible for all phases of the design process, from conception to implementation, and will act as a thought leader within your team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product designers and cross-functional partners to define and execute the vision for new features.
• Execute across all phases of the design process including wireframing, prototyping, and visual design.
• Lead design efforts for large projects or major parts of several business-critical projects.
• Implement innovative team practices that drive change and identify new opportunities for value creation.
• Act as a thought leader in the cross-functional group and implement forward-thinking design.
• Build relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency with broader product goals.
• Demonstrate strong understanding and implementation of internal design processes.
• Lead the cross-functional team in framing and providing thoughtful solutions to complex design problems.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience as a Product Designer.
• Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
• Mastery in UX software such as Figma.
• Design portfolio demonstrating strong UX and visual design solutions.
• Foundational understanding of HTML and CSS.
• Exceptional track record in executing product design strategy and mentoring designers.
• Experience in building world-class product experiences and streamlining workflows.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead user experience design, including usability principles and user research methodology.
• Willingness to take smart risks and champion new ideas.
